Sounds like a car to begin the making of one nice project. As for price depening on the condition it coud go from $700 to $19,000
The 2000 price guide I have shows 6 conditions with #1 being Excellent and $19,000 #2 = Fine/$13,300 #3 = Very Good/$7,600 #4 = Good/$3,800 #5 = Restorable/$2,300 and #6 = Parts Car/ $700. It also notes that the 427/390 HP adds 40% the 427/425 HP adds 50% and Air if you have it 15%.
As for how many were built thats the golden answer all of us would like to know about with our cars, Seems no one really knows how many were built with the combos we all have, just how many body styles. Someone out there might be able to say there were 150,000 Caprice's out there but not how many of them are 427's.
