Cool

I have a 1986 Camaro IROC. I was wondering what I should do to the 1999 GM Crete Engine that is in it already to make the car faster? I was thinking about getting my heads ported and some tracktions bars. What do you think? Thanks Nevin

Get the nitrous kit part number: NOS-05001. it is a set shot of 125 hp. with that and some rear shocks and maybe some traction bars----your car should hit high 12s.

i secong the 125shot of nitrous. dont listen to all crap about nitrous being dangerous. its just as safe as a supercharger or turbo. both can blow your motor if not used properly. just read all the recomendations and beef up your fuel system. youll be glad u did

Here are the specs of the motor.

Dual Pattern Cam, Lift: .435'' Int. / .460'' Exh., Duration @ .050: 212į Int. / 222į Exh.

When hot rod or chevy magazine put a comp cams x/e 268 with a edelbrock rpm manifold, it made almost 400 horse!
specs for that came are:

im really impressed by that cam. but is it one of those $300 ones that dont come with lifters or is it resonably priced? and what heads could we swap them out with (edelbrock, etc...)? they are iron and the IROCs are heavy cars, so some weight reduction would be great by going with a set of aluminum heads.

Summit sells the extreme energy line(268XE included) for ~$97. Add a set of lifters for $30-$40 and your ready to rock.

As far as heads, the vortec heads on your motor are pretty good. But if you want aluminum, the Trick Flow 23* seem to be the hot ticket for budget aluminum heads @ ~$900 a set complete. And they outperform the vortecs, sportsman II's, and Dart iron eagles out of the box.

Question

how are those pistons gonna like about a 125 shot of NOS???
and were gonna get that cam for or right after Xmas, so that will make some nice HP gains.
