Question

I just installed a new set of Hooker Super Competiton headers and a Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust on my 68 SSRS 396. The headers have 2 inch primary tubes and 3 1/2 colectors. These new header hang down so low that I only have about 2 1/2 inches of ground clearance. If there is a pebble in road the headers scape. Has anybody else ran into this problem with the Hooker Super comps? Is there a different motor mount I can use to raise the motor for more clearence? What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

Mr Grumpy was the king of scrape around here with his hookers on a DZ 302. Not sure if they were super comps. Jess you out there?

I ran Super Comps on my SB '69 with stock mounts and springs with no issues, no scrapes.

get taller front tires and/or stiffer springs to bring it up a little bit. with stiffer springs, you can keep the same ride height and lessen suspension movement, thus less scraping. my nova has about 3" of clearnance from collector to ground, and they never hit. i have weak 6 cylinder springs that allow a lot of movement.
