Cool

69 Camaro.
461 BBC, aluminum rect port heads, 500+ HP.
700R4.
Street driven.

BeCool offers a new radiator (#82009), with dual Spal 11" fans.

Wondering if anyone has tried one.

I'm using one of their radiators in a 67 with single 16" fan on a SBC, and it's only just adequate. (430 HP).

Before I spend $1100 on it, I'd like an opinion.

Thanks in advance.

Don,

If that's their new 1" wider than before radiator, that with their dual Spal fans is what I'm running. I have a 69, 468 big block, A/C, and no cooling problems with that set-up.

You do have to drill two new holes in the radiator support on the drivers side due to the added width.

Here's a pic. Sorry about the quality but I lost the good ones on Photopoint.

That seems way over priced to me. Is the radiator any different then the one you have now? If money is no object then get it. If you want to save a few bucks, just put a Lincoln Mark VIII fan on it, it pulls over 5000cfm. Griffen makes some universal raidators for about $300, that have dual 1.25" tubes, which is about the best I've seen.

Someone on this site wrote that you can use a 4th gen fan setup with very little modification. Twin fans with that setup also.

I have a Griffin in my 69 with a 612 HP 468ci motor. I am running 2 Dearle fans and have never had a problem. Even in the 100 degree Texas heat. I am using the custom fit not the universal. There is quite a difference in size. I paid about 600 for the radiator and 150 for the fans.

Thumbs up

Thanks fo the replies, lots of good ideas.

I agree the price is ridiculous, but the guy I'm doing the car for doesn't care as long as it does the job.

Camcojb,
Yes that's the one I was asking about.
Sounds like it works well, thanks for the info!....BTW, awesome engine compartment...looks great!
I'd really be interested in more specs/pics, especially the 'charger and EFI!

Well,

Here's a pic to see how the ProCharger mounts up with all the accessories. I run a modified Victor Jr. with a Speed Pro wide-band ECU. The stock p.s. pump (not shown) also works but requires a different bracket from ProCharger to move it down slightly.
