LS1 on DYNO
Took my 69 Camaro SS Vert with a Stock LS1, T56 and 12 Bolt 3.73 gear to PSI (Portland Speed Industries) in Portland, Oregon yesterday along with my 21 year old son whom was home on spring break. I had a couple of issues specifically, a floating idle, very stinky exhaust and low performance.
Owner Jason with PSI completed the first test which put my Wheel HP at a poultry 200 HP and 250 Torque. He did some programing and then determined I had an air leak only to quickly find that a prior owner of the motor had drilled a hole in the flapper valve of the throttle body which he then plugged and completed a conservative tune on the Dyno. End result, a whopping 340 Wheel HP, 350 Torque and estimated 400 HP at the crank (like we measure that anymore), at 6,000 RPM!
Could not have been happier to hear that baby roar to life! It was truly amazing and of course it is now a whole different car.
