68 Camaro LS3 swap suspension question

I'm mid-way through an LS3 crate motor swap into my 68 Camaro and need some help with some new front springs. Old engine was an all iron 402 big block and new engine is a stock LS3 right out of the box. Had big block springs with adjustable coil overs in the front with the old set up and had them dialed in so it rode pretty low up front. The coil overs are adjusted as far as they will go and I'm sitting at least three inches too high with the lighter engine (no surprise). I'm guessing I need to swap in some small block springs but was looking for some suggested part numbers for folks that have made a similar transformation. Thanks

Re: 68 Camaro LS3 swap suspension question

I used the Hotchkis 2" drop springs for a small block. These were spring replacements and not adjustable. Hotchkis leafs in the rear with 1/2" block. Stock lower control arm and 18" wheels.

Beings you have the coil-overs...I would call the company who makes them and see what spring they'd recommend (should be the same as a SBC)
My car sits about the same with the Alum/Iron LSx Vs Iron/Iron SBC.

Thanks guys. The coil overs are Hotchkiss so I went with the 2" drops that they sell for the SBC.

Thumbs up Re: 68 Camaro LS3 swap suspension question

Hotchkis coilovers for our cars? Didn't know they had those. Are they coil overs or drop springs with adjustable shocks? I am running Ridetech's level 2 coil over (front and rear) in my LS swap. Love them!

Re: 68 Camaro LS3 swap suspension question

Must be the drop springs with adjustable shocks. I had the work done by a shop a few years ago. I know we used the Hotchkiss 3" multi leaf drop kit in the back and dropped the front at the same time. I can't wait to drive the car with the LS3 in it. The weight savings up front from losing the iron big block should make a huge difference.
