gmpp tach signal

Hey guys, Is it correct to have your tach setting in the 4 cylinder mode using the GMPP ?? I'm just starting to wire up my new gauges. Thx.

Re: gmpp tach signal

What gauges?

For Autometer you will need 4 cyl mode and a step up resister. If factory you can use the MSD LS tach adapter.

Look at Autometer instructions. You can buy a kit that has the OP and Temp sensor metric adapters and the required resister.

I don't know if the oem tach will work if you use the step up resister. Therefore I use the tach adapter instead

Hey John, I'm using the New Vintage gauges. It does mention a step up resistor.

Re: gmpp tach signal

Ok. Basically you connect 12v switched power to the resistor and the resistor to the tack sig wire going to the tach. It boosts the tach sig from the ecm.
