crate LS3 which front drive system?

Hello Everyone,
Long time lurker, first time posting and wanted to thank everyone for they vast amount of knowledge being shared on this forum. Much appreciated! Will be installing a gmpp LS3 into my 67 firebird along with vintage air. Looking at the corvette style front drive system along with the Kwik bracket. Is this a wise choice? Plan on using the Holley system(motor mounts, headers, oil pan) and have Hotchkiss TVS system already installed and don't want any interference issues. Any insight is greatly appreciated, thank you.

I am using the Corvette accessory drive with the Kwik a/c bracket along with the Holley system. I am pretty early on but everything seems good so far. The CPP Corvette accessory drive is on backorder and I have heard potentially long lead times. I am setting in my engine this coming weekend if all goes well so I will be able to comment on the Holley stuff for sure.

Holley accessory drive is the way to go if you are using their pan and mounts. Cast not flat plates like Kwik brackets.

I used the GM Corvette accessory kit and the Kwik brackets. Happy with both.

See pics in my build thread Post 125 or so.

Re: crate LS3 which front drive system?

I am not understanding why folks would not use the Holley accessory drive when they are using their mounts and oil pan etc. They are engineered to work together without issue. Cast brackets are superior to those fabricated from flat plate because they are stronger and flex less. Seems so simple....

Re: crate LS3 which front drive system?

I am using the CPP Corvette style drive with the Holley AC bracket Chevrolet Performance Parts - 19257325 - CPP Accessory Drive System Without A/C - Fits LS2, LS3 & LS7 Engines . I called Pace Performance and they said it is backordered until January..... With that being said, and you need one sooner rather than later go with the Holley setup. The only difference (besides price) is that the CPP one uses the corvette alternator and the Holley one uses the truck style alternator.

The kwik bracket came with my vintage air kit.

The GM accessory kit was a good buy with the new PS pump, res and alternator.

Re: crate LS3 which front drive system?

I've used both Holley and Kwik. They both work very well.

I do like the Holley better as it matches the GM ALT/PS Bracket

Isn't Holley quite a bit more expensive ? $1300 ?

The corvette FEAD is less than $600 (minus ac) and the Holley is about $800.

The cast brackets do look nicer. Worth the extra $200 ?

Re: crate LS3 which front drive system?

There are lower cost Holley based kits and they are not on long term backorder....

Re: crate LS3 which front drive system?

I like this kit from LSbrackets.com.

Seems to have a lot more clearance at the power steering :

I'm definitely going with this setup. It gives far more clearance at the power steering than previous kits. Here's the description :
--------------

Only a new belt is needed with this kit

When reusing all your factory 2010-13 camaro parts.

Does not come with the pictured A/C Bracket for the Sanden compressor.

This is LS Brackets New State of the art accessory drive power steering, upper alternator mount bracket.

This bracket is CNC cut from 6061 3/8 billet aluminum

It is designed to work with the Factory Camaro power steering pump, Alternator and accessory drive from a 2010-13 camaro

This is the most user friendly alternator, power steering relocate bracket on the market today.

This Bracket moves the factory alternator up high and and keeps the factory engine cover intact.

It gives frame clearance in older vehicles where the factory alternator hits the frame and steering box.

Comes with a complete set of instructions and part numbers

Everything can be purchased from your local parts store.

Please Email with any question.
This bracket has been dyno tested and I have tons of happy customers

Designed to work with the 2010-13 Camaro PS pump and alternator

Comes complete with 6061 billet aluminum spacers, 3/8 billet plates, GM spec. zinc coated bolts and instructions.

This bracket is also 100% compatible with any 5.3,5.7,6.0.6.2 engines using Truck/SUV Crank pulley with 2010-13 camaro accessory drive parts.

Trimming of the factory engine cover maybe needed for best fit.

So you have checked and can live with 1-9/16" less space between your accessories and radiator/fans versus the Corvette based accessories? Holley mounts already pushed the engine forward.

Not saying it won't work, just asking if you checked it will.

Re: crate LS3 which front drive system?

Cost for the above setup including ac brackets, ps and alt brackets and buying 2010 Camaro alt and ps from rockauto was $800.

The sanden compressor will come in the Vintage Air kit.
