Re: Rob'd 67 Camaro LS3/480 Ist Start Video
Every car and every swap is different and has its own unique challenges
What are you starting with?
are you going to put in a new fuel system and EFI tank?
are you installing a new radiator or trying to use the one you already have?
what transmission do you have do you have?
big block or small block at this time?
Do you have a AC or are you going to install AC.
What LS engine are you going to use LS1, LS2 LS3 or 7? GM crate motor? Salvage drop out?
Stock speedo and gauges or aftermarket?
RS or standard grill?
Vacuum cans or electric?
Stock subframe or aftermarket?
I can tell you the parts I used on the last 5 LS swaps. I can tell you what I used on a LQ9 and an LSX454.
However what I used and what you want to use may not be the same.
There are several other guys on here that have done awesome builds that included LS swaps and used parts different that I use
I would suggest you take a look at their build threads for inspiration as well.
And last but not least is budget. We spend approx $13k parts alone on a full LS3/480 swap. If you add a new tranny that's another $2500. This is for all new engine and parts.
Start a new thread specifically for your build so we are not hijacking Rob's swap thread.
