"MIL" Check Engine light wire

I just read in my GMPP wire instructions that the "MIL" Malfunction Indicator Lamp AKA Check Engine Light wire is located next to the DBW pedal/harness. I haven't had a chance to verify this yet. Anyone confirm this ??? I was hoping to get a little wiring done today. Thx.

You are correct, the MIL wire is by the gas pedal. It is a ground (triggered wire). According to the GMPP instructions, you connect it to an light/led. The harness wire goes to the ground side of the light and you will have to put an 12v ignition source on the POS side of it.

This should be in a small wire loom with the 12v ignition power wire for the ECU, wire it like Chris says above and all should be good. IIRC it is a black wire and it will have an indication piece of tape that says MIL on it

12V to the LED and the MIL wore from the harness to the ground side.

If you have Dakota Digital gauges you run the mil to the box.

Thanks John, My Vintage gauges require a 12V + for the light. I had to use a relay to convert from neg to pos trigger.
