Thanks John. I was just curious if I should use the blend for initial break in. I'm still a ways away from start up, just was going to add oil now after I buttoned up the Holley pan.

Re: LS3 oil

x3 on Mobil 1 5w30.

Dexos is a standard, not a brand. Mobil 1 is Dexos. But there are a lot of other Dexos approved brands as well. Stick with the good stuff.

Re: LS3 oil

just broke mine in with mobil 1 5-30 just like when i bought a my 2010 camaro. if it's good enough for a new car, it's good enough for a new engine.

Re: LS3 oil

x5 on Mobil 1 5w-30w. I started mine up did my initial break in procedure which calls for acceleration runs at part throttle to I believe 4k. After I was done doing all that I changed the oil. Changed the oil again at 500 miles and again at 1k. Then again at 2k. Probably overkill changing so much but cheap insurance the way I look at it. I will probably only change once a season now that I feel everything is broke in.
