Hopefully not too dumb a question... GM put VVT behind automatics only, I think. Why? Is there a reason to avoid VVT on a stick car?

economy, emissions... people with autos worry about those things, manual shift guys just want to have fun.

Despite how crude the LS system seems to be it could still boost the fun factor

Just guessing, but could it have anything to do with how the engine see load on an auto Vs. manual when cruising ?
