Re: LS3 intake manifold shootout

So basically the stock LS3 intake is the best for a mildly built street car.

When I spoke with Holley/MSD at SEMA I asked about intakes as the Holley Mid Rise I tried on my LS3/525 killed torque.

I wanted to know about the MSD Atomic.

They told me they made an Atomic for the LS3 but it didn't work as well as the stock LS3 intake so they did not go into production.

Bottom line was they told me to stick with the factory intake.

I believe they did a similar test a few years back on the LQ4 and found that the stock truck intake, although wasn't the best, was only a couple of hp behind the best manifold which wasn't cheap.

Pretty interesting that the stock intakes seemingly are the best choice in most cases.

Re: LS3 intake manifold shootout

I've seen a couple of articles on that subject that wound up liking the truck manifold. I think one noted that its available design height makes the difference.

67RSSS......owned since 69. A basket case for most of it.
