Which LS3 Engine 430 or 495 HP

Hey Everyone,

New member and my first post and I'm afraid I know the answer to my question before I even ask it?

About to order a new GM Performance LS3 engine and struggling to decide between the 430HP & the 495HP?

I live in Orlando Florida so if its not raining I drive the car everyday, the 15 miles per gallon that I'm currently get S#cks!

I've read reports of the base LS3 getting upwards of 26 miles per gallon?

So my question is what will the mid level LS3 with the upgraded race cam get?

I suspect most will say go BIG or go home but with the amount of driving I do in this car per year it really will make a difference in my savings account and take some of the fun out of it. (not that the expense of an LS3 swap is going to drain my savings )

If you’re getting 15 now and you’re doing a swap to get 20 to 22 realistically depending on what transmission and gearing you have it will take you 25 to 30 years driving 10,000 miles a year to recoup the cost of the swap.
