69 Camaro 5th gen radiator install

So after a long break i finally got done mocking up the center console and shifter along with building brackets for it so far sooo good. Now on the radiator as ive said before i am trying to save some money here me and my dad were able to frabicate some brackets to install the original 2012 Camaro radiator i had a few mins today checking out clearances. I was checking the engine harness and noticed the power plug for the fans was nowhere to be seen i tried searching online but was unable to locate any images on where its located or where it leads too, my concern NOW is if Once i get it all done and get my harness done if i will run into any wiring or for the fans to operate correctly. I am planning on getting an AC system later on and i want it to work properly any body have an idea on where the power plug for the fans is located or if there will be any issues running this setup.

Lastly is this a good time to replace the water pump and update the steam port tubes? The engine has approx 66k miles i am still working on getting an afm/dod delete done, later on once i get some more funds.

If your using a take out harness it does not have plugs for the fans. Also does not have a fuse box or the relays for the fans, ignition and fuel pump.

The only harness i have is the original one from the engine/trans but based on the details you provided you are correct thats all i have. Do you think there may be an issue adding the fan wiring/connection to the harness and making them work properly? Of course all of this once i get the harness done.

Looks like its gonna be a tight under the hood but i think its gonna work.

The harness needs to be modified with some things removed and some added for it to work.

There are companies that rework harnesses if you are not able to do it yourself

Re: 69 Camaro 5th gen radiator install

Pretty sure those fans need PWM drive from the BCM and/or a separate PWM fan control module. Might be easier to replace the fans than engineer your way through all that....

I thought i read somewhere the ecm tells the fans when to switch on/off, but nevertheless my original 69 camaro harness is setup for dual fans i am assuming i can use that power source my concern was if i install an AC system telling one fan when to start and shut off. The radiator brackets are not fully done im about 70% done.

Re: 69 Camaro 5th gen radiator install

Don is saying the fans may be PWM (pulse width modulation). If they are they need a compatible PWM controller. Lingenfelter makes one among others.

Not sure if they will on your old harness without the controller.

And they may not be PWM fans. Will have to research it.

Correct me if i am wrong but the PWM can be bypassed? I dont mind the fans being on all the time if need be, my old sensor would switch the fans on once a certain temp was hit and shut off once it was below that temp in order to avoid overheating. But i will look into it.

So after doing some research looks like i do need a PWM unless someone else can chime in, i was looking online and it looks like Dakota Digital Pac-2750 is a very good option to use to fix this issue i already have the 2 relays for this setup from my original 69 camaro wiring harness. Not sure if anyone else has used this setup?

DD 2750 does not control PWM fans

Thanks for the info, i did review several posts not much info on these fans. But for now at least it woks with my budget. I guess if i run into any issues later on i can deal with them. I still have to mock it with the front end of the car sooo will see.
