LS flywheel

I have been under the impression that i need a .4 thicker flywheel for my LS swap. I expect to go that way but it seems from what i read online not all do. Is it optional?

Re: LS flywheel

If you are using your OEM 621 bell housing then youíll want the thicker flywheel

LS BH use a standard thickness LS FW

Re: LS flywheel

Thanks John. It makes sense that the bh has to be the difference i never saw it stated anywhere before.
McLoed seems to be easy to track down in the catalogs. I was kinda figuring on going that way too Donny.

Re: LS flywheel

I did one with a steel scatter shield. Lakewood. Same dimensions as an aluminum 621. Used the thicker flywheel.

Get the part #s from McLeod but buy from Jegs or Summit for better pricing. To protect distributors McLeod only sells at list price plus shipping.

Re: LS flywheel

Ive got a couple of lakewoods floating around. I have to get them on the surface plate and find out how flat and true they are. I figure the 621 is gonna be close. I mainly use Summit. Last i looked jegs website was still driving me nuts and theres no tax dodge with either anymore. Summits return policy is as good as they claim it is too.

Yep Jegs website is a PIA.

I look up the part #s on Summit and use the # in the Jegs search box. Did have to pay tax at Summit as they have a store in Nevada and no tax at Jegs but that may have changed.

I often called higher dollar orders into Summit and they would discount the order to match Jegs shipped prices.
