LS balancer

Any insights on harmonic balancer selection? This question seems to break down into an ati vs fluidampr debate on other sites but what i am wondering about is clearance or incompatability issues. GMPP also has what appears to be an over the counter only LS3 balancer but it has little information regarding its construction. I dont have a drive picked out yet.

Re: LS balancer

I'm only running the truck damper, been 7500+ a dozen times or so, still fine.

I guess it would come down to what drive assembly you want to run to see what damper you'll need ?

Also, IF you plan to hit the track or not....I can't see buying a high dollar damper to just to drive on the street (unless you want that look)

Seems like I notice more ATI in the pits at tracks.drags and road.
But maybe that’s just because I have one and the catch my eye.

Re: LS balancer

ATI is the big kid on the block. Looking at their catalog gives me a headache. I think the factory balancer difference is mounting holes. I will hit the track but what im building is a driver. Power tour wouldnt be out of the question. I am gonna try to talk to the crank guys tomorrow. Dunno about a drive yet. I havent spent a minute with that. I have always thought that if i cant get what i need ill just make it.

Re: LS balancer

You need to pick your drive in order to determine a comparable balance

Most LS3 drives use the Late model Camaro balancer.
