Recommendations for a new photo hosting website

Photobucket just turned off all my links to photos that are imbedded in the threads on this website.

What would be a good alternative to photobucket?
These are the ones I found on the internet:
1. Google+ photos
2. SmugMug
3. Dropbox
4. Imgr
5. Flickr
6. Amazon Prime Photos

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

I use Imageevent. For a small amount of money, I have unlimited storage and full high resolution pictures saved.

I use appropriately...........FQuick.com > Upload Your Car Pictures and Car Videos! - FQuick.com
They don't charge anything, yet but who knows down the road.

Re: Recommendations for a new photo hosting website

Flickr is the best of all the sites I have tried. They give you 1TB of space for free, you can build albums, sharing is easy in several display sizes and designed for several different social media formats. The BB code for forums does link the pic back to flickr but you can edit that out fairly easy to just show an image...

Samples: use quote on this post to view the code for their share and the edited version below it.

Re: Recommendations for a new photo hosting website

Why not attach thumbnails to the postings using the TC attachment manager? It is extremely frustrating to find an older posting with the exact help one needs that had photos sourced from some other website that are now gone and replaced with a box showing the photo has been removed. This usually renders the older posting useless which is sad given someone took their time to upload it. Post the photos directly in TC and they will be retained for perpetuity to help others in the future. If the TC member posting to a thread for any reason ceases to keep current their use/membership in the alternate photo posting service or the links to the third party service change for some reason, all the photos they've submitted to TC are lost rendering their postings useless. Unfortunately TC is littered with a lot of these lost photo postings. This has been a pet peave of mine since my first visit to TC years ago. Sorry about the rant.

I recently did a pictorial recap of my MOMO steering wheel installation, all pix now held hostage by PB so I'll re-do it with TC hosting because it'll help others trying to do similar wheel swaps.

One suggestion I'd make is it would be nice if the mods made that thread a sticky, and then... maybe put sticky thread photos in a separate TC storage area. That way they are there forever and never lost when a member leaves or exceeds his 20 megs of pictures. Might encourage more helpful photo How-To's... remember, a picture is worth 1000 words LOL 😂!

Re: Recommendations for a new photo hosting website

Mike I have made your thread a sticky. I think I can back-door reattach the photos to your original thread if you upload them into your Garage or better yet create a separate album in your Gallery Team Camaro Showroom - Main Index
for them and I can attache them from there. If you number them sequentially as they appeared in the thread I can replace them one by one.

PM me if you have any questions.

Re: Recommendations for a new photo hosting website

I have a build thread that might have a 1000 photos. I would exceed the capacity that Team Camaro allows for photos. I like to enhance the photos and sometimes edit them.

It looks like Flickr could be a good choice. Thank you for the suggestions.

I wonder if Photobucket is trying to shut down websites like this one? Since they have all the photos captive, they could start new websites that mimic this one.

Re: Recommendations for a new photo hosting website

They are just looking for revenue. By linking photos using image tags here and on other websites, most without the link back to the photobucket site where they are selling and placing ads defeats the guarantees they made to advertisers. So by charging users 400 bucks a year they make up the revenue. Maybe. I suspect there will be a dramatic decrease in folks using the service paid and unpaid.

Re: Recommendations for a new photo hosting website

Now, with technology, and the Cloud, why can't we host our own images? Isn't there enough storage available that each individual can post images and have them accessible and not have to depend on these image hosting sites? Any of these large image hosting sites can change their rules and demand fees after they get a large customer base. If there is a way to do this individually, we defeat the large image hosting sites.

Kevin, I'm new to Flickr but this worked for me.
Open your Camera Roll and select the pic you
want to delete. Delete option will show up in lower
right corner. Select delete and follow the prompt's.
The pic still showed up in my album so I logged out
and logged back in and it was gone completely from
Flickr. Another way is open the album. Select Edit In
Organizr. Double click on the pic to delete. This opens
an edit window. Select the delete option and follow
the prompts. Again this deletes it completely from
Flickr. I would think there would be a remove from
album option without totally deleting the pic but I
can't see how to do that.

EDIT: Ok I figured out how to remove a pic from
an album. Using the Edit In Organizr option just
drag and drop the pic from the album to the Camera
Roll window (lower screen).

I don't have an album. I go to my pictures and I left click on the picture and there is a blue check mark in the upper right corner I click on it and it just shows the image in a circle to center it. I right click on the picture and nothing happens ??????????
there is nothing I can see that says delete

You asked about deleting a photo from an album.
That's why I replied as such.
If you double click on the pic it should open in a large
view. Then there is a "View on photo page" in the
lower right corner. Select that and then there should be
an edit icon in the lower right corner. Select that an the
delete option will show. Beyond that I really don't
know what to say. I'm using a desktop computer
with windows 8.1 IE 11 if that makes a difference.
