Were you one of the thousands of users with threads with PhotoBucket links killed by them on June 20th 2017, and now you are being extorted for a $400.00 USD yearly fee to share your photos?
Here is an update from Team Camaro:
While we would love you to become a supporting member of the site and not have to worry about your next photo sharing service changing the rules mid game and rendering all your threads and posts useless with one click ever again, we understand you may want to host your entire family photos not just your car related photos in one place.
So far Flickr as a service turns out the be the most accessible and easiest to use image tags in your post here if you are going that route. Google photos is also an option but has a steep learning curve.
If you are interested in becoming a supporting member of our community you have two options, Premium $19.99 a year, and Gold Lifetime one pay of $59.99. Consult the go premium page for details on benefits and storage space. https://www.camaros.net/forums/payments.php
So you are sitting there saying so what even if I move my photos, or become a supporting member here at Team Camaro, I still can't edit my links in old threads. WE ARE ON THAT!
At the moment I'm thinking the simplest way to do this is the following - may not work just like this but you get the idea:
- Create a new forum section called something like "Photo Link Editing" that will grant you edit rights to your threads.
- There will be a sticky at the top for requests by users to move particular threads for link updating. (copy and paste the link for us)
- Moderators will then move your thread per your request to that forum.
- When edits are done the thread will be moved back to the original forum location.
Please be patient as we work out the details but one way or another there will be a way for you to edit your historical photo links away from photobucket.
It has been asked of me Brian, if I become a supporting member how can I edit my links and still have running comments or instructions to tasks and project threads?
Easy. You create an album in your area lets say "Disc Brake Conversion" Upload your project photos, then in your original thread overwrite the link to that photo at photo-barf-bucket with the image tag from your photo gallery album here at Team Camaro. The system even gives you the link code, just cut and paste. If you haven't looked at the gallery or the garage features of the site the link is right on the menu bar at the top.
More news when we have it.
