Question

I have the orrigonal double hump 2.02 heads for my DZ 302 that my uncle had machined about 25 years ago. I need to disassemble them and clean some of the sand out of them before I put them on the engine (distant future) and I need to store them. Should I pack them in plastic bags and oil, or should I use grease or WD-40? Thanks.

Joel,
If it is going to be a while before you use them, and you are going to go through them anyway at that time, I would just spray some WD40 on them and sit them on the shelf. Plastic bags tend to make a lot of condensation when the temperature changes, I dont like using them. If the heads have been run, they are probably pretty oily anyway, they should be fine. if you can store them in a heated area of the house instead of an unheated garage, it is even better.
Hope this helps,
