I'm installing a TH350 in my 67 and I need the transmission crossmember.

Was the TH350 offered in '67? I can only find the TH400 crossmember. I was told that I could use the same one? Are there any modifications involved?

I don't think that the TH350 will work with the TH400 crossmember... it will work with the Powerglide crossmember though!

Right... the crossmember for the PowerGlide and the TH350 are the same.

What tranny was in your car before?

I don't know what it originaly had, but i'm sure it was an automatic.

I bought the car as a shell, no engine, no tranny, no interior. Even the trim tags are missing.

Where can I get that crossmember? Can I get it repro?

Is yours gone ? The one you need is the most common one out there. You should be able to find one at a Swap meet or almost anywhere else for 20.00 or less. Very common piece.

Yep, mine's lost. The guy that took the car appart says he could not find it.

If it's a common part Classic or Year One should have it right?

No, They are not available repop, but the crossmember is the same for everything except the TH 400. Remember that the big block and small block crossmembers are different. Small block are very common.

Just what is the difference between the 350 & 400 crossmember. I have a Tremec 5 spd to install in my 68 and Fortes web site recommends using a 400 x-member. I have the old crossmember & wonder if it can be modified.

The 400 cross member in more tubular, and has the mounting holes back farther. Not sure, but judging from the picture, the mounting holes are also lower to the ground than the others.
Ricks lists CM-1 as "Call" which almost always means used.

I installed the TH-350 crossmember that rjrock sent me. Had I known it was that easy to find I would'nt have ordered that universal crossmember from TD. I messed up my flowmaster exhaust trying to make it fit. Now there's plenty of room for it.
