Now that I've got my car I was thinking about going to Carlisle in the spring.

My car is not a show car, but looks great from 5', it is original and highly optioned. Engine compartment looks like knowbody has touched it in 20 years.

My question is, will I get laughed out of Carlisle for it not being a show car or will people appriciate it for what it is, a car that i want to drive and not worry about a small paint chip?

Thanks

There are many classifications at the all GM show in June. If your car is a survivor (A high percentage of the overall car is original, including paint), then you can enter in the Vintage class or just park your car in the fun field. You are sure to have a great time, and I would be very interested in seeing your car.

You know, there will be all types of people but I say - go for it. I'll be there every day except sunday and enjoy seeing original cars.

Carlisle would be a good place for everyone to wear their "Team Camaro" t-shirts. It would be interesting to meet some of you guys.

Been there a bunch-o-times for Vetts at Carlisle. I've never driven a car there though. There was always something to make us take the truck, whether it was mechanical issues or rear end gears. Last year we had to cancel just before "All GM Carlisle" and ended up in Pittsburg the following week.

Fact is, you can park in the fields, park in the "I'm just here" corral or enter some of the classes. Carlisle (Vetts) was always a complete blast.

Could someone sum up last years First ALL GM Show? I heard it was good but low in attendance. (If true, perhaps because it was just the first ever.)

Spring Carisle is just a swap meet. I think the only thing you can do is buy a space in the car corral where everyone will be selling their cars. All GM Carisle is the place to be for showing your camaro. I go to Carisle about 4 times a year. It's great. http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/
I have some digital pictures of last years All GM show, if anyone is interested i'll put some links to them in this post... or e-mail me. Just let me know the one's you want to see in full size. They are all 67 and 68 camaros with 2 gm concept cars and a chevelle that Year One did up real nice.

Having been to the All GM Nationals and the spring and fall Carlisle shows, I think you would really enjoy the All GM Nationals. Carlisle is a great place, and the amount of cars and parts you will see is unreal. You will find parts you thought you would never see again in your entire life. You'll be amazed.

I will be at Carlisle in a couple weeks for the Spring show. There are so many first gen Camaro's for sale. There are acres of parts as well.
It is like Disney Land for first gen Camaro people.
Team Camaro shirts would be cool.

Some of the stuff at Carlisle is priced outrageously. By Sunday, the last day of the show many people drop their prices if they are still there.

I bought a complete set of SAE and Metric Gear Wrench's for $60 last year.
You can also save a bunch on shipping cost by buying directly from the parts dealers that are on site.

For thoese of you who can't make the trip, check out their web site:

Yes, I've had vendors such as Rick's bring my order to Carlisle for me. They also have sales going on at their tent. I added a day to each of this year's events I'll be attending because there's so much going on.
