Mulitply your top engine RPM by your tire size. Then divide that by your transmissions top gear times your rear end gears times 336.

My motor will run to 6500 RPM, I have 28 inch tires, my M-20 4th gear ratio is 1.00, my rear gears are 4.11's. So it would look like this.

(6500RPM x 28inches)/(1.00 x 4.11 x 336)=131MPH

1968 Camaro
496 cubes / M-20 4 speed
12 bolt 4.11 posi.

Just in case you aren't sure how tall your tires are you can figure it out by looking at the size and calculating that too.

275/60 15

first number is width in millimeters, second number is aspect ratio (or height to width ratio) and last number is wheel size.

do this:

[(2 x width x 0.0394 x aspect ratio)/ 100]+ wheel size

mine is:

[(2 x 275 x 0.0394 x 60) / 100] + 15 = 28inches

1968 Camaro
496 cubes / M-20 4 speed
12 bolt 4.11 posi.
