i placed a bid on them, will work alot better than the old halogens.. pretty neet idea, a little modern tech for our old cars...

Someone told me that those type of lights place alot more load on your wires, and can even burn them up. I don't know if this is fact or not. Anyone else know?

In the ad, he has a big red note stating that you should make sure your car uses H-4 type light bulbs. They won't work unless you car uses H-4 type light bulbs.
I called a couple dealers and they said the higher the H number, the more power they require. So I guess it's a matter of what the First Gen. Camaro came from the factory with as far as H-x goes.
Anybody know how to reference this?

I would wire in a power relay on each headlights and then wire the relays directly to the battery. The headlight switch would then be used to open the relays. I wouldn't think the H-4 thing would be an issue with this modification. There's plenty of room up in the fenders to hide the relays so no one would see them.

Adding the relays will supposedly help a "stock" wiring system because the long lengths of wire between the headlights and power source creates a pretty good voltage drop.

the H numbers are the type of connector on the back of the bulb. H1 bulbs have a single male terminal the bulb itself, H3's have a single male terminal on a short lead(looks like a side marker with leads soldered on, used in cheap driving or fog lights - I believe they also have vertical elements in the bulb). Both H1 and H3's rely on the lamp body for ground. H4 is a three prong male connector (2 vertical 1 horizontal) just like the female connector on the wiring harness. H4's will work fine in a Camaro, as long as you don't go crazy on the wattage. H4's put more light on the roadway than H1, or 3 because of the orientation of the filiment, and the reflectors in the housing. a Watt is a Watt.

Don't believe the 85 watts of light for 55 watts of power hype.

I have these (or something like them) in my car, and they work fine on dark roads, but they are not any good in the rain or mist, the blue light just scatters everywhere and the front markers put out more light than the high beams. Low beams are fine, highbeams scatter everywhere.

Once they blow up (if ever) I'll swap them back to regular old H4 white bulbs.

I made this exact upgrade to my 69 Camaro. Lights are awesome!

First I made the relay upgrade to both my high beam and low beam.

Second I upgraded my alternator system to an internal voltage regulator 94 amp system.

I followed the MAD Enterprises instructions for both electrical upgrades.

I then installed these Xenon headlight bulbs and housings.

I don't think the alternator upgrade was mandatory for this headlight upgrade but it sure helped my big amp stereo and the headlight dim at low RPM.

I have to tell you that I love these headlights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was just out last night and they are awesome and a major improvement for the money. I think I spent $90 total for the bulbs and housings from .

You can go one steep up from these to High Definition lights like on BMW's and high dollar euro cars but the HD system start at $1,000.

So I take it it is possible. I hope so because they are on there way. what type of relay do I need and where can i get it at?

I was assuming it was just a plug and play thing... guess not.
