Hey Folks,

Hope everyone had a safe / enjoyable 4th!

FYI:
I used RestoMotive's POR Strip to strip the old paint off my engine block today and posted some pics on my site.

The stuff works great and in about 1 hour, start - to finish, the job was done.

I'm going to let the block dry overnight then clean with the Engine Clean Solvent and apply their Metal Ready product tomorrow morning. (Both come in their engine painting kit.)

I'll let the block dry again overnight, after rinsing with water, and paint on Sunday!

Hope this is helpful to some!

Regards,
Rob

I have been pleased with all products I've used from Restomotive Industries. I began with POR-15 which is the best product ever! Of course I used it with the Marine Clean and Metal Ready, then topcoated with Chassiscoat black. I then used their POR putty, which is pretty neat stuff.

Recently, I have tried their Tiecoat primer and Metal Mask. Both impressed me. The Metal Mask in particular. I was painting the idler arm with it, and I had a hard time telling where the paint stopped and the natural finish was the color was so close.

Looks good Rob, but what are you going to paint it with?

Take some pictures and let us know!

Bill,

I'll be using RestoMotive's POR15 Engine Paint Kit. I hope to paint it tomorrow and will post pics.

Thanks,
Rob
