Were build sheets supplied with every car?

I finally had to get one to keep the cops from ticketing me for tinted windows. They didn't believe that the tint was factory, but now with the build sheet, I can just shove that in their faces and go about my way. Handy thing to have for several reasons, really.

I don't believe build sheets were "supplied" with the car per se. They were printed (multiple copies per car) to assist with putting the car together, and followed the car as it moved down the assembly line. Most sheets eventually get thrown away by the time the car is done. On my Z and most 2nd gens there will often be a build sheet stuffed behind the back seat. On LA built cars the sheet is usually laid on top of the gas tank.
