Ok guys, this is a picture of a 3917291 from Nov 67, notice that on the underside there are two "291" castings. I have 3 other 291 heads but there is one odd ball(October 21, 1967) that has a "461" for the upper number and a "291" for the lower. I know that GM made the 3782461 camelhump in the early 60's. I was wondering if this sub-casting meant something.

1968 Coupe, 327/210hp project in process. PS/PB, Factory AC, adding camelhumps and a cam

I have a Nov. '67 3917291 and an early '68 3917291.... I'll look more closely at mine and see what they show for you.

Looks like a mistake to me too.

FYI - a fiend of mine back in high school had a '68 210hp/327 Camaro coupe. We pulled the engine and installed a set of 291's, the LT-1 solid camshaft and a good intake/Holley. The performance jump was unbelievable. That 327 was a lot of fun when we got it hooked up with an M20 and 4:10 gears. You will like the changes you are planning as I know the available cam/intake combinations are even better today. Sorry - a little nostalgia coming to the fore-front!

FYI - I forgot to mention, the 291's for my 302 which have February 21 1968 cast dates, have 291 in both locations.
