I am using a 4 quart oil pan on a ZZ502 to fit it in a 68 and want to make up for the lost oil volume by using an oil cooler, preferable one with the GM lines. Has anyone used this set-up?

Ive not used an oil cooler and I dont have that big power plant, but to cool it down also use synthetic oil, Amsoil or mobile, that will cool ya down quite a bit.

GM can't make an oil cooler line that won't start leaking after a few thousand miles. you could use a factory cooler and make up some custom hardlines with aftermarket braided flexible lines or something. the cooler in my 94 cop car Caprice is pretty big, but the lines leak a bit where the flexible line meets the hardline off the engine block.
