Hello to all! I have a problem with the lights on my Delco stereo in my 99 Chev truck. It has the cd player. The problem is that the lights on it are burned out. HOW does a person get behind the face plate to change the bulbs? Do the preset buttons come off somehow? I have looked at it a few times and it sure has me stumped. Other then going to Audio King and buying a new system, What does a guy do? Thanks for any help!!!
P.S. My wife thinks it's funny how I can put my 68 rs/ss camaro back together, but I can't figure this out!! Isn't she just a riot!!!

have you consulted the fine people at a dealer service department? i bet it won't be more than an $800 or so repair- all they will do is put in a new stereo, i bet.

Yes,I have talked to the dealer. They said the could play around with it and see what happens. For what they will charge, I could install a Alpine system in it. I'd rather put it in the camaro than the truck!

Ok, time for the stupid question. . .

Do you have the interior dimmer turned all the way down, or off?

Try screwing around with the dimmer, and the headlights. They're all connected somehow.

You can try this place Techni-Car. They don't have a web site but here is a phone number.
1-800-251-6063
They have shops in Jacksonville & Tampa, FL.
They repair all our digital GM speedometers and radios.
Good Luck, Drew

It is not the dome light switch. At night when the dash lights are on, only about half of the radio lights lite up. Some of the preset buttons don't come on as well as buttons for seek, recall, etc. I can't figure out if there is a way to take the faceplate off of the radio to get at the bulbs. I tried prying off one of the preset buttons but was afraid I'd break it so I stopped. Thanks for the advice and more is welcome!!!

Go to a junkyard and see what they want. There should be a few of those out there and I'm sure that the demand is low. It's worth a try anyway.
