Hi guys first posting . I am a current owner of a 87 Buick Garnd National . I have just taken on a new project on a low mileage 67 Camaro 6 cyl . Can you guys help by telling me in detail what has to be done to swap out the 6 cyl to a SM V8 . Many thanks.

Aloha from Hawaii and welcome to Team Camaro. IF you use the search iconto the far right of the Team Camaro banner and type in Swap or conversion you will find quite a bit on the topic. Those that have posted there are some that have done the swap. Once you find out who those people are you can either contact them (e-mail) or just review their post.

Again Aloha and welcome. You will find this site has plenty of offer and the Team Camaro folks are great.

I just completed a swap on my 68. I know you'll find several good posts that hit most of the main points. Email me if you have any questions.

This is just my opinion, and everyone knows about opinions......

I have a 69 Z/28 that is pretty original and pretty fast. That's the car I have always wanted and now I have one. But if I owned a 68 or 69 6 cyl, I think I would keep it that way. I was at the Domino Farms Camaro Fest this year and there were over 450 camaros there and I only saw one first gen 6 cylinder. This car was an automatic on the column and I thought it was the coolest car there. To me, the only way it could have been better is if it would have had a bench seat. The owner said that parts for these are getting a little hard to find, and I would believe that.

Enough said, just my opimion.

If you do swap I would hang onto all the original parts if at all possible.
