I'm looking for the final word on which '68 tic toc tach redlines go with which motors. Searching this site says (and what I thought) - any sm block = 5K tach (except Z-28). Low & mid horse BB = 5.5K, and the 375hp BB & Z-28 = 6K tach. Now the repops have shown up, vendors are all over the board with what goes with what - which prompted an argument last week with one of them -*that should know*- on mismatches. What is the final answer? Thanks to all!

October, 1968 issue P&A 34 (and I quote):

Group 9.750

68 CAMARO w/console instr. cluster (327, 350) w/clock ....... 6468713

68 CAMARO w/console instr. cluster (396)(exec Sp. H/Per.) w/clock ....... 6468714

68 CAMARO w/console instr. cluster (Sp. H/Per. 302, 396) w/clock .......6468715

P/N 6468713 is 5000RPM Redline
P/N 6468714 is 5500RPM Redline
P/N 6468715 is 6000RPM Redline

The P&A 34 should be the definitive word. However, there were exceptions to this rule, but usually on very late built cars.
