A friend of mines grandma passed away earlier in the spring. The estate has been settled and she had a nice 64 Pontiac Lemans, 326 4 speed. It has been garaged the last 5 years. None of the kids or grandchildren want the car, so they asked if I would be interested in the car. They are asking $3200 for it. It has 72,000 miles on it. The question I have is, what is involved in swapping a SBC into this Lemans. I have a ZZ4 in a crate I can use if I decide to get the car. Any advice would be appreciated, such as what areas to look at in this particular model. I know what to look for in 1st Gens Camaros, not a Pontiac Lemans.

Thanks abunch!
John

Do as everyone says. I have had Pontiacs as well as Chevys. Its good to keep everything as they came from the factory. I'm changing my 68 400 4 speed back to all Pontiac that was set up for Chevy. You will appreciate it more.

As 69Z28 says you will appreciate it more, but in addition, it will appreciate more!!

If the car is in good condition, SPRINT to the bank and get the money.

make sure to check the frame good, mainly right behind front wheels and just head of the rear wheels there are prone to rust out in these places.
I had a 65 GTO convertible,it was rusted there,so I sold it for 1,000.00 .
boy it sure did sell fast, didn't know what I had

Hi 68 Softy.

Here are 2 Pontiac websites I frequent. Be warned though, these people are hardcore Pontiac...they CAN be brutal.
