Hi, I just got a 69 Chevelle tilt column, and am looking to install it in a 68 Camaro, the two are a little different, but I'm sure I can modify it and make it fit/work... I'm trying to find pics and diagrams of the 69 Chevelle column, anyone know where I could find them?? Thanks

The 69 has the key cyl and switch in the column. This could be a problem, unless you were planning on doing away with the switch in the dash.

the reverse lockout was to lock the steering column from turning. There was linkage called "backdrive linkage" from the trans to that lever on the bottm of the column, and what it did was rotate the column collar to the lock position when the car was put in reverse. This also allowed the ignition key to be turned all the way off and removed. If the car wasnt put in reverse you couldnt turn the key all the way back to remove it.
Since you wont be using the ignition key it wont be needed for you.
