What type of gasket was used on a 68Z? I have seen several different types advertised and need the correct type and style configuration for this restoration.
I've always used a thicker gasket to help keep the carb base cooler. I've gone with the 70 Z28 NA9 Cal heat shield for my Norwood 70 Z28. You can see the thickness in this photo and you can get different thicknesses at any speed shop.
Thank you. I do not recall the metal heat shield on original 68 Z's. Is this a factory or after market trick for keeping the carb and gas cooler?
