SB to BB Heater Box Cover

Does anyone know how the factory covered the two heater holes thru the firewall when they used the BB heater box cover? The heater core moves to the left thru those holes, but not sure what to do with the other two! Thanks!

Hi, on my 69, when I installed a vintage air system, I plugged the old heater core holes with plastic caps that I bought at Ace Hardware. They snapped right in and are black in color. Measure the size of each hole before you go !
On mine, one was 5/8 and the other 3/4.

Re: SB to BB Heater Box Cover

Factory used a piece of weatherstripping, closed cell foam, stuck in place with adhesive.

Hwen I bought my heater box seal kit, it came with both the foam block with holes for the SB core, and the rectangular piece to glue in for BB. It is darn hard to take a picture of, but here's my best shot. I think that's my urethane that made the ridge in it (hope I haven't poked a hole in it...)

Re: SB to BB Heater Box Cover

Eric had it right. A piece of closed cell foam was glued in place at the factory. The foam is included with a box seal kit.

Re: SB to BB Heater Box Cover

Thanks all.....sounds like I can get what I need from several places. Fortunately I live near Classic, and will stop by and get it. (Not fortunate for my wallet!)
