Question Clearance issue with Thermal clutch BB

I'm installing a complete new cooling system. I have a custom alum, curved neck. Which is dead on factory speck's size and core thickness. So that being said it's stock size, I have a 772 dated 7 blade, on a #2750 haden Thermal clutch, in a 69 BB long pump factory shroud set up. I'm having to move the core support up to the forward most mounting hole on the frame to gain clearance for the fan to Rad core. I'm right at 3/4 of an inch, is this right or am I too close for comfort. The last thing I want is for new sheet metal & a cooling system go up in smoke it I hit the clutch and poss, throw a clutch & fan asm.

Re: Clearance issue with Thermal clutch BB

I run a bone stock L78 in my '69. Clutch fan clearance is very tight, maybe 1/2" or so. Too tight to squeeze my little finger through. That's just the way it is. I'd say you're fine.
