Water Pump install

My 95 camaro is leaking coolant and I believe its the water pump. Have a 3.4L V6. How difficult is it to do this repair yourself and what exactly is involved? My Haynes manual seems to make it look easy, but a labor quote from Pep Boys ($500!) makes me think it's a bit more difficult.

Re: Water Pump install

I did it on a '94 3.4 and it wasn't too bad but it took awhile. That car sits so low in the front it was tough on the back. Might want to jack it up a bit to make it easier. I recall needing a puller for the P/S pulley, as I'm pretty sure it has to come off. There were some difficult bolts to get at also. It's been awhile since I did this. Given the choice I would not pay $500 to have it done.

Re: Water Pump install

start teaing things apart until you've got the old one out..
then try to get all the parts back where they belong with none left over.
that is how you learn..

you don't plan sincerity.
you have to make it up on the spot.

wanna hear about 20 years ago when i was too smart to know any better?
