Question Would this create a problem ?

68 with a big block radiator and a small block motor . The upper radiator hose is above the top of the tank about where it turns to go to the goose neck , all of the hose is above the tank not just a portion of it . Could this create an air pocket and not let the coolant circulate freely ? If so is there a part number for a correct hose that would work .

Re: Would this create a problem ?

im unsure but I would think it would trap some air.
I would look at some of the aftermarket hoses to find your fix

The air should be flushed through the system.

Re: Would this create a problem ?

in 68, a small block a/c car also used the 23" radiator, so that hose would be a proper fit for your application

Re: Would this create a problem ?

That's kind of what I was looking for , I know the hose that's on it now is just something that almost fits but not right .

Thanks

Re: Would this create a problem ?

maybe you can trim it a bit on the outlet side to get the hose down lower.
but i really wouldn't worry about it.

you don't plan sincerity.
you have to make it up on the spot.

wanna hear about 20 years ago when i was too smart to know any better?

Re: Would this create a problem ?

I run a small block with the BB AC rad and I love it. Since the swap it never runs hot. No problems.

If your concerned about air in the system, put a catch can on it. It should bleed it out after a while

Think about it...there is NO WAY you will ever get the air "traped" in it AND it doesnt matter to hoots...
This is where the water pours goes INTO the radiator, and what is in the top of the radiator?....an air space.
As to being too big...not a problem, it is the thermostat that determines in Min running temp.

My Spelling is not incorrect...it is creative
