clear coat an aluminum radiator?

anyone tried this?
i was thinking of trying krylon spray triple crystal glaze #0500 after brushing the surface with a wire wheel. think it would peel, color, or detract from the cooling abilities of the aluminum?
maybe clear engine enamel?
maybe i should post this in paint, but i felt this was more about heat transferrence than paint.

all opinions welcome!

It won't cool properly.
Use a special type radiator paint - only.

Re: clear coat an aluminum radiator?

Also The clear will eventually 'yellow' , and with Al having a high expansion, over time cracking/peeling is very likely..
Then If /when these happen, the job of stripping, re polishing is not one I would take pleasure in doing.

My Spelling is not incorrect...it is creative

Yep, don't "paint" the radiator, as said, it will retain heat.

I suggest using Alcoa protectant, its the third step of their alum wheel polishing/protectant method. It aprays on, then you rinse it off with water and dry with chamois or air gun. lasts for about 6 months, at least on their wheels.
