Fan Shroud

I have a late model 350 motor with electric fan, I want to convert back to shroud/fan...motor has serpentine system with offset idler pulley....will a regular clutch fan work or do I need a flex fan? Anyone have this setup?

Re: Fan Shroud

I just installed a GM 330-350 turn key engine in my 1968 Camaro. The engine has the serpintine system and I used the standard 1968 Camaro shroud and installed a 18 1/4" reverse drive flex fan. This works very good. Please note you will need to use a reverse drive fan with the reverse drive water pump used with the seprintime system.

Re: Fan Shroud

The best flex fans are Derale, either as 17 or an 18". I use a 17 and she cools perfectly. They make a reverse rotation as well. You will need a spacer, probably 2". Measure from the back of the shroud to the front of the water pump pulley, add an inch to an inch and a half, that's the spacer you need.
