Ordered Gen IV AC for 69 yesterday

Called a couple distributors and nobody had the correct answers about the unit for a 69. Called Vintage Air direct and they said yes there available and have about a 2 week lead time. Ordered one. Thing sounds awesome. Supposedly it somehow mounts to your existing controller but you don't use the cables like the Surefit.
Will keep you posted when I get it.

Re: Ordered Gen IV AC for 69 yesterday

Well XMAS came early today. New Gen IV system arrived a week early. Only had time to check out the polished compressor. Looked good. Hopefully will have time to look at more tomorrow.

Not sure on a 67 but it does on a 69. It's probably the same for yours. I'd call them direct (1-800-862-6658 or 1-210-654-7171) and ask for Walt to make sure. He's at X142.

Hello,
Have you installed this yet? I'm thinking of replacing a factory unit with this.

Thanks, Lance

No, not yet. It will probably not be for a month or 2, but it looks nice in the box LOL.

Re: Ordered Gen IV AC for 69 yesterday

Ran into a small snag. Opened up the boxes and found the compressor had a V-belt pulley on it. I was pretty sure I ordered a serpentine but not 100% positive. It's not just a matter of swapping the pulley, I have to return the compressor, the brackets, and the hose kit, as these are pulley specific.
Make sure when you order your system to specify the type of pulley being used.
Walt at Vintage Air is a great guy to deal with. Gonna get stuck with shipping these back to me but I can't say for sure who's at fault.

Re: Ordered Gen IV AC for 69 yesterday

Sorry you did not call us Max you could have got all the information you needed and saved money. We have sold a bunch of these Gen IVs, and have installed a few. They are awesome to say the least. Were doing a install story as we speak we will soon post on GPSuperStore.com. We still have them on special.

here is a pic of the controller with the switches mounted.

Hi Frank, I actually went on your website awhile back but did not see anything on these. I guess I should have called.
