68 Camaro AC question

I have a rolling 68 and plan on fixing it up. It had ac not sure if it was the four seasons system. But pretty much all that is there is the evaporator core and the vaccum tank. Should I sell the pieces I have and get an refurbished or new one...or should I piece together a system. Which would be better...which would be cheaper?

Re: 68 Camaro AC question

I put the Vintage Air system on my 68 w/air. I think that would be the way to go, both price wise and functionality. It's kept me cool to 100 degrees. I did get a little frustrated with the design while installing it...but those memories are fading. I don't know anything about the new gen IV system.

Re: 68 Camaro AC question

Hi, Check out Classic Auto Air http://www.classicautoair.com/Perfect.asp
They will refurbish your System, sell you the original parts for your system or they have aftermarket kits. If your car is a Factory A/C Car, I would go with a Factory Setup converted to R 134A.
Hope this helps,
Tory
