67 blower motor testing?

How do you test the blower motor? I got a new one, but ill be damn if I put this thing in and have to take it right back out!!
I hooked it up to a battery and got nothing. I tried it with my old motor and a buddy of mine's and got the same. All 3 cant be bad. Is there a certain way to hook it up and switch it on?

Re: 67 blower motor testing?

Simple way, out of the car.....Ground the body of the motor with a wire to the NEG -12v side of the battery. (Insure that there is a GOOD bare metal solid ground connection). Run a wire from the POS +12v side of the battery and touch the connection terminal on the motor. It isnt a bad idea to put a fuse inline on the POS +12v wire just in case the motor is shorted/junk. If its good it will spin up immediately. Hang on to the motor cause it will want to twist as it starts. If you arent getting anything that way, use an ohmmeter to look for open in the winding of the motor....Jb
