hot air blowing from vents

When my air is turned off I get warm air coming out of my vents and was wondering where it is coming from? My control panel seems to be closing the door in the heater housing now what.

It might be your heat valve is leaking by. Its not closing all the way. Thats the first thing that comes to mind. If that checks out good then it might be your a/c controller. And check all your vacuum lines to the heater valve.

Also, it might help us out if you identify your vehicle year in your profile. Because i'm just guessing you have a 69.

Re: hot air blowing from vents

is it hot air (heater) or just outside air? On a/c cars air is drawn in through the plenum on the vent panel or the recirc kick panel plenum. Maybe the door that closes the heater box is not closing all the way. Do the cable controls feel free? maybe one cable is disconnected. do you have the (early 67) low blower switch on the a/c?

Re: hot air blowing from vents

I ordered a new blower switch and I am going to order a new radio and when I get everything apart I hopefully I can figure it out. The side vent youre talking about is it on the passenger side panel that works off of a vacuum it looks like, but it isnt hooked to the vents that I can tell. It feels like warm air if I slide the switch to hot it is alot hotter. I can turn it to the floor and it stops coming out of the upper vents.
