excessive coolant level changes

Non Camaro question here.

Replaced the timing belt, tensioner etc. on my wife's Caravan and figured I'd replace the water pump while I was at it.

It now has a difference of well over a quart, more like close to half a gallon, in the overflow jug when hot or cold. When cold it's almost empty and when hot it's completely full. Never seen a car with such a drastic coolant level change, and it didn't do that before I changed the water pump. It's been over a month since the pump was changed and I've topped it off a couple times so I seriously doubt an air pocket is to blame. It's burped out coolant all over and then sucked the rest in several times.

Anyone else seen such a huge coolant level change from hot to cold?
