Radiator Recore Sticker Shock

I've been getting estimates between $325 - $450 bucks to recore a 69 Camaro smallblock 3 row radiator?? Are prices really that high now-a-days or have I been calling the wrong shops. It wasn't that long ago (2003) I spent $165 to put my Harrison tanks on a 3 row core. The same shop now wants $400!

What have you guys in the Chicago / Northern Il area been paying?

Yes, the cost has been raised tremendously due to the rising cost of metals

Isn't it funny.... last re-core I was going to have done was $30 more than a new radiator All they kept saying was it has the same warranty

Unless it's a numbers car, I would look at an aftermarket aluminum one (can be painted to hide) IMO

Re: Radiator Recore Sticker Shock

A while back costed locally how much to get my orginal radiator recored...
It was cheaper to get a new one from Classic indusries, Air Frieght to NZ , pay the 12.5 sales tax etx...and at the same time air freight in a few other bits and pieces, like tie rod end, brake hose, door lock thingies.

A full flush, manual clean with headers off, is about $us45 75 $nz

My Spelling is not incorrect...it is creative
