Question Cowl Vent Inlets?

I'm replacing the complete Cowl Panel on my 69. It's originally an AC car that does not have Cowl vents. The replacement part has the opening for the vents. I plan on smoothing the firewall and using a vintage air retrofit system. My question is, should I close the vent opening or should I try to find the vent parts? Are those vents even available anymore? The original AC parts are long gone so trying to piece together an original system is not something I want to do.

Thanks.

Re: Cowl Vent Inlets?

If you are talking about the fresh-air vents at each side of the dash, then the Vintage Air kit will have the cowl vent covers that fit over them and block them off using the original screws. Just add some sealer to improve the seal and water proof them.

Re: Cowl Vent Inlets?

That's what I needed to know. I think I'll weld them shut, just for aesthetics. Thanks.
