Heater Core Manufacturer Recommendations

Hi Guys,

I'm getting ready to replace the heater core on my 67 and after reading through some posts on the site I had some questions.

It seems like the two biggest complaints are that replacement cores are the wrong dimensions and/or are poorly made. That being said, can you guys recommend a manufacturer/vendor?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Two choices I look at:
1. AC/Delco, because of American metal
2. Repair the old one.

If going to a local parts store, take yours along for comparision.

Re: Heater Core Manufacturer Recommendations

The majority of AC/Delco copper/brass products are not made in the USA unless they are NOS.

Visteon, Modine or A/C Delco copper/brass is likely going to be made in Mexico. Which is better than China.

Re: Heater Core Manufacturer Recommendations

The one I got from AutoZone was hecho en Mexico. No problem with fit but they gave me the wrong one on the first try and ordering one for '68 ultimately got me the correct one for my '67. That's AutoZone for ya.

'67 rs - ordered new by my Grandfather
