Spring loaded tensioner assembly

In one of my brighter moments getting some parts disassembled for the powder coater I allowed the spring loaded tensioner on a GM serpentine set-up come apart. I am flipping my alternator to the driverís side so I can mount the compressor on the passenger side. I believe the stock pulley kit; brackets, etc. are from an S-10. Is there a trick or a tool to use in putting this thing back together? I am having trouble holding it in a vise and not sure how or where to hold it to re-tension the spring.
Thanks,

Re: Spring loaded tensioner assemble

Picture? Probably alot like wrapping the broken recoil spring in the B&S engine cover - PITA.

I'm gonna suggest get another one............unless another member here has assembled one.
I haven't, but one never knows.
