Recommend a Radiator for a BBC

Need a recommendation for a new radiator? Have a 454 BBC, manual trans, no A/C. I want to keep the stock fan and shroud.

I heard good things about Desert Cooler radiators (US Radiator).

Any thoughts or ideas?? Looking for a good one.

Thanks,
John

I pulled my faithful stock 23" 4 row that worked well for many years but was needing core tube reseal. I went to a direct drop in replacement http://www.entropyrad.com/index.php?...od&productId=9

Worked well for me, little more money but its made in USA. I even used my stock offset fan shroud and fan clutch.

Thanks Don,

I just checked out their website, $379 seems reasonable. I like the fact you can use the stock bbc shroud and fan. I guess it works fine seeing you live in Tx with all the heat in the summer.
I will call them tomorrow.

Thanks again,
John

Hear good things about a few, have limited experience with a few...

John, I bought the Entropy radiator, and it works great. Be sure to let them know you want to use the stock shroud and they will install the clamp fittings on for you.

X2, They need to be reminded about the clips. Other than that , this thing is a direct drop in or it was for me. I used the driver side factory well nuts to mount as the radiator is allowed some flex, even the stock one calls for this. Makes sense.

Well if you want a nice radiator for $212, do what Mr Fred Ficarra did :

Re: Recommend a Radiator for a BBC

I just bought a Entropy radiator today. If you email Tony and ask him for the budget radiator it costs $219 shipped. Web site says it will cool 700 hp. Here is a link to the radiator : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=390247628671

Re: Recommend a Radiator for a BBC

That's not our Entropy model. That's the low budget model that requires redrilling the holes on the drivers side.
